Ankiflash Privacy Policy
04 Sep 2023 - Long Ly
AnkiFlash (including the AnkiFlash Generator Chrome Extension and the AnkiFlash Add-on for Anki) is owned and operated by Long Ly, a developer from Vietnam. This policy outlines our commitment to your privacy through a “Privacy by Design” approach: No Collection, No Accounts, No Tracking.
1. User Accounts and Personal Information
You are not required to create a user account, provide an email address, or share any personal information to use AnkiFlash. We do not collect, store, or have access to any personally identifiable information (PII).
2. Data Processing and Dictionary Requests
AnkiFlash acts as an intermediary tool to help you study.
- When you generate a flashcard, the extension sends direct requests to reputable online dictionaries (such as Oxford, Cambridge, Collins, LacViet, Jisho, or Wiktionary) to fetch definitions and audio.
- These requests are handled directly between your device and the dictionary providers. We do not intercept or store the content of these queries on any external server.
3. Local Storage Only
All data related to your study sessions remains strictly on your local device. This includes:
- Input word lists.
- Successfully generated or failed cards.
- User configurations (selected dictionaries, translation options, and sound settings).
4. Log Files
AnkiFlash does not collect or transmit log files to us. Any operational logs are displayed exclusively within your browser’s “Console” tab in Developer Tools for your own troubleshooting purposes.
5. Website Analytics Notice
The legal documentation for AnkiFlash is hosted on longly.info. While this website uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to monitor general site traffic, the AnkiFlash extension itself does not contain any tracking code, cookies, or analytics scripts.
6. Consent
By using AnkiFlash, you hereby consent to this Privacy Policy.
